In the Mood for Tea
My office has moved to a new place, I got a new desk nearby the window, full of sun. Apparently it evokes my drawing senses (after a long, heavy sigh to best friends about losing the ability & chances). I drew series of tea cups, teaspoon, kettle, etc. I'm in the mood for tea time. With sugar cubes and milk. And gorgeous beau. And beautiful birdies *wink* (This is one of the design I'll launch for Mikisi Curiosities Etc. next year)
Full tujuh matahari kalau siang.
Screen Print Madness
Recently in love with screen print. Made new limited art prints on coffee stained paper. Been a very good friend of screen stripper, I met and smell 'em every morning. Hope you're okay, dear lung.

Birdies Mood Board
These beautiful birds by some talented etsians somehow reminds me that I should draw more birdies in 2011. Or at least within few remaining days of 2010. I made one yesterday. I intentionally set Geninne's art works aside of this mood board, since I could put all her birdies here and put no other artisan.

Hello! Hellofest 7
Last weekend Mikisi struck back in bazaar "Pasar Hellofest7" by Hellomotion Academy after hiatus. I'm so glad Julian was in town until christmas (or please longer). We launched new items "Pouch don't be pouty" and new notebook designs. I am so glad Jules took the pictures of it first before it sold out. There were so many surprises among the crowds, most of our customers are male!

Mikisi's Patches
Do you own plain fabrics that needs to be embellished? Sew a patch above it. It is suitable for your lunchbag, backpack, totebag, jacket, skirt, pencil case or anywhere plain.
Pouches, Don't Be Pouty
My partner in crime, co-owner of Mikisi, Julian, has been in a really good mood of screen printing. Thank god he's returning home, no longer in Yogya (the Merapi's erruption, remember?). He's spending his time with his cute cousin, cooking "sego pecel" and screen-printing. These are my old drawings, he turned it into pouches.

Mel Kadel Mini Museum
My first year of painting and drawing was heavily influenced and encouraged by the dynamic couple Travis Millard and Mel Kadel. In one of their reply (I remembered, she sent me a very-inspiring email before the exhibition Sumbu Roda, Yogyakarta, February 2008) she said about not to worry of having small works, I could fill the whole wall with bunch of assorted size drawings. Having a large canvas (or wall) doesn't mean we have to fill them up to the max. And her tools, .005 micron pen, is one of my favorite drawing tools until now. I have 3 black micron with the same size and blue and green in .02 size.
Wish I could have an altar to display their works.
For the Love of Bike and Postal Service
I was thinking of reusable envelope and how I go to the post office, then Julian drew, sewed and screen-printed the idea to these babies.
(come in size of A5 with buttons to keep everything in the right place)
Bundle of Joy from Jules, Ms. V & Mr. Frnss
It has been months since last my birthday. I forgot to maintain my blog the way it used to be, but now I feel it has to come out. It's probably not a biggest birthday bash you have ever known, but somehow I really grateful the way I am now.
Here's my (open) note to them (in Bahasa Indonesia, but worry not there's the translation below):
Feransis, Julian dan Ika sayang,
Terima kasih atas semua hadiah hebatnya, ya teman-teman.
Terima kasih banyak.

(Feransis, Julian & Ika darling,
Thank you for these marvelous presents. I would never measure it like the airport guy did to my luggage the other day, by size or weight. If it's so, they must be having a big time in measuring how much love, courage, understanding, and patience all of you have given.
Thank you so much.

Ramen Lady
Who could resist a bowl of tasty chicken broth with noodles, seaweed and spring onions? Even my mother, or I called her "Ibu", would do a very long walk to get her delicious ramen. Last Sunday, I don't know for sure what kind of evil that got into her and possessed her feet. She asked me if I would go eating out with her and went by a bus. Walked from our porch to the bus shelter at 10 AM, I caught a glimpse of her "help-me-I'm-out-of-breath", then I hailed a taxi. Our bus trip was cancelled.
Never mind the bus trip, we went by feet to my favorite ramen house (usually go there with Ms. V and Mr. Frnss). Beyond my expectation, she loved it very much and she ordered a plate of scrumptious gyoza before we asked for the note. As she sipped her hot lemon tea, she shrieked. She found a strand of hair inside it. Euwh. Then she promised herself never ordered another drink besides the iced water (which is free).
Bideo Killed The Ladio Staaaa
Rainy afternoon has been a really good friend of mine in last days of October. Mr. Rain, please introduce an acquaintance of mine, Mr. Shugo Tokumaru. He succeed in making my afternoon brighter and shine with laughter, though I have to walk under the rain for few kilometres before I catch the bus. I find myself really enjoy knitting Möbius strip cowl now. Not finished yet, but sure do within week.
Anyone, please set me up on a date with him.

Warung Kopi Tanpa Es Kopi
