From Palestine to Guadalajara! My 13th mix was streamed on Internet Public Radio, Guadalajara (3/11, 9 PM GMT+7). Even after 2 days, I couldn't stop smiling whenever I see my picture on "Latest Show" section ("ooh I made something huge!").
Grief is not an easy object to be involved in our daily conversations. It's easily forgotten or being avoided. It's also the trickiest thing to tackle, because it came in waves. Just like my mix cover (it's David Louis Cintron's artwork, I love it so much).
Grief could strain you to bed and won't let you get out of it. At other times they would strangle you with guilt. If you're lucky, in good days they'll let you keep the sweet smells of freesia perfume they're wearing, to linger on your clothes days after.
Anger is easier to express. Even love is not that easy to be talked about, aside from romantic love. You got gajillion songs about love, but it often left your friends cringing as you said it. Saying "I love you" just because you really care about that person, nothing romantic or sexual about it, it's the hardest to accept. They might say "Are you dying?" or "You're not hitting on me, aren't you?" I know it's probably very cultural, or very apocalyptic to say it without any explanations (for some people). But who needs that? In the time of people are not being able to be physically present in the same room, I think you should say it more. Move the needle and you should keep doing it after the pandemic is over.
